My Favorite Farmhouse Paint Colors

I'm absolutely in love with the transformative power of paint. Whether it's a piece of furniture, a lamp, a door, or an entire room, it's amazing how adding a fresh coat of paint can completely transform a space. Since I've tried and tested more paint samples than I can count, I thought I'd share some of my favorite go-to shades. If you're looking for a modern, farmhouse-inspired rustic look, check out these paint colors for your next DIY project or room refresh:

Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is one of the most soothing shades! It's a grayish green that changes color depending on the amount of natural light in a room, and the time of day. If you're looking for a neutral shade that will make your room a haven, with a hint of a beachy, coastal vibe, Sea Salt is your go-to. I've used this in our master bathroom to create a soothing spa, and also in a client's master bedroom for a heavenly retreat. I love this color so much, I even used it to paint my front and back doors!

Sherwin Williams Essential Gray is a gorgeous gray that has the slightest hint of lavender. After testing out three different shades for our dining room, Essential Gray was the standout favorite. It adds class and elegance to our dining room, but also provides a neutral backdrop for my ever-changing decor and table linens - everything from black Buffalo check to pastel robin's egg blue!

Sherwin Williams Alabaster is a beautiful, creamy off-white color. Perfect for interior or exterior trim, bead board, and furniture refinishing.

For a sweet, romantic hint of pastel pink, Behr's Pink Prism is the ideal shade. It's a soft shade with a bit of a preppy vibe, and because of it's sweetness, I just had to include for the stripe accent wall in our daughter's nursery. This color would also look nice in a smaller powder room, to add a romantic element. (PS, if you happened to see the post on our rustic, romantic country wedding and got a peek of my pink wedding dress, you'll see this pale pink shade is one of my go-to colors in life!)

Looking for a deep, sophisticated navy? Sherwin Williams Charcoal Blue is a rich grayish blue color that works well to accent a center island, for exterior shutters, or even painting an entire house.

Sherwin Williams Sensuous Gray is a dramatic gray with the slightest hint of plum that's perfect if you're looking for a striking impact. This shade works well as an accent wall, and also for a more dramatic dining room or bedroom.
