Welcome Home: A Coastal Farmhouse Foyer Makeover
One of my favorite rooms to design in a home is a foyer or entryway. Why? It's the first and last thing guests see when they visit your home...so why not make a good impression?
Whether you need your foyer to serve as a welcoming but functional drop zone with a place for "all the things," or you just want to add a pop of style to greet you when you come in the door, there's so many ways to add even more oomph to your entry...
Like I did with this coastal farmhouse foyer makeover. Here's the before:
The entryway lacked charm and personality, and the wood and brown tones made the small space feel heavy. So, how to make such a small space feel more pretty yet also be functional? Bring on the makeover...
First, for the ultimate design "game changer"... new paint! After a fresh coat of paint on the walls (Behr's Heirloom Silver) and the inside of the front door (Sherwin Williams Sea Salt), a board & batten accent wall was also added to give depth and character to the small space. Bronze door hardware and modern light fixtures (like this glass and bronze fixture in the entryway and this distressed wood beaded flushmount in the stairway landing) bring all the coastal, modern farmhouse vibes. For the styling finishing touches, this lavender wreath, farm fresh sign, and area rug make the entry feel welcoming and pull the designed space together.
Want to bring more style to your foyer? Need to make your entryway a more functional space for your family, or a polished place to be proud to welcome your guests? I'd love to hear more about your next design project! Let's talk about how I can help make your home a place where you can thrive, relax and renew.
